Don't get me wrong, I love grinding my own coffee beans to get a fresh cup of coffee but sometimes it gets a little time consuming.
This is because our family loves drinking coffee and we regularly have to grind the beans. And instead of getting one of those large coffee grinders, we kept our Krups coffee grinder, which has been with the family for years now.
Right now we are considering getting a large coffee grinder just to get enough supply for the demand. So in our own search for our very own large coffee grinder, we would want to share with you different models to choose from.
First, let's take a look at the benefits of getting from this list of large coffee grinders whether it's for your home or for you small coffee shop.
Large coffee grinders are heavier and that's better. In this day and age where we want things smaller and lighter (except for our food), coffee grinders are an exception to that.
The heavier the product is, the most likely it has a large motor and when you have that it produces lots of torque at a relatively slow speed. You want this because the large motors avoid heat building up within the machine and destroy the taste and aroma of your coffee beans.
If you're trying to make a dessert or a coffee shop then a small coffee grinder just won't do. You'll just end up burning out your coffee grinder and it will consume lots of time for your staff to grind the coffee beans.
Remember, if you grind daily then go with the large coffee grinders. It's an investment that you will be happy about for years.
Should I consider or buy one of those large coffee grinders with a dosing function or not?
My answer there would be simple, if you grind daily then go with the large coffee grinders. If not, go with the much inexpensive but still reliable smaller ones.
You really don't need this if you just scoop up an exact amount of coffee grounds all the time. The dosing function is just an added feature that you will see in most large coffee shops. It makes sure that their baristas get the exact amount of coffee grounds needed to make the right coffee drink.
It is so convenient that by pulling a a dosing lever on a coffee grinder then it will discharge the right amount of coffee grounds before tamping.
This may look cool and all but if you'll be using your large coffee grinder at home or in your small to medium sized office, no need to get too fancy. There are a lot of large coffee grinders that also look nice even without the dosing function.
Based on my research, I've made a list of my favorite large coffee grinders I could find on the web. Hopefully this could help you in your search for that right coffee grinder for you. If you find these quite big and/or expensive, you may want to check out our small coffee grinders or other coffee mills pages. I'm quite sure you'll also like the choices there.
Let's take a look at different large coffee grinders so choosing will be much easier:
The Gaggia MDF Grinder is a commercial grade burr large coffee grinder equal to those found in Europe's espresso bars and restaurants. Automatic dosing allows a premeasured amount of ground coffee to drop directly into the filter holder. Pull the lever once for one cup espresso, or twice for 2 cups.
Precision-machined grinding burrs can be easily adjusted for 39 different degrees of fineness. The large hopper holds 10 ounces of coffee beans. Easy to use and perfect results are achieved each time.
Product Features:

The Mr. Coffee IDS77 coffee grinder makes personalizing 4-12 cups of coffee easy. The KitchenAid Pro Line Burr Coffee Grinder grinds whole coffee beans for the best tasting cup you ve ever brewed! Whether you re grinding for espresso, drip coffee, French Press or something in-between, 15 different grind settings give you plenty of options. The commercial-quality burrs actually flake coffee instead of crushing it, so you don t lose any of the essential oils that give coffee its full flavor. Turning at just 450 RPMs, this burr coffee grinder also ensures those oils will not burn off due to frictional heat. Special gears control the delivery of beans to the burrs for a better grind consistency, and a plastic seal helps position the coffee bin under the grinding spout to prevent grounds from escaping.
Now for the real plus: the Kitchen Aid Pro Line Coffee Grinder has a bean hopper and coffee bin made of GLASS rather than plastic to eliminate static cling. Glass means less cleanup, plus fluffy-looking grounds that won t cling to each other or the grinder. And since the hardy all-metal construction means this baby is built to last, this may be the last grinder you'll ever buy. It's not only one of those large coffee grinders but one of those sturdy ones.
It’s Italian and it’s called, “Rocky” so that means it’s a champion. The Rancilio Rocky, designed specifically for espresso, enjoys the reputation of being one of the toughest, most durable grinders on the market. Based on the engineering and innovations developed from Rancilio’s commercial grinders (large coffee grinders), the Rocky has set the bar for other grinders competing in the home espresso market.
The Rocky Doserless Burr Grinder allows you to grind and dispense any amount of coffee into whatever container you’d like; any espresso machine portafilter or drip coffee basket, etc. A flip of the switch will begin the grinding process and immediately ground coffee will flow down the coffee chute until you turn it off. Simple, easy, reliable.
Here's a steady and sturdy grinder in my large coffee grinders list.
For grinding larger quantities of coffee beans for a coffee-drinking crowd, Capresso's commercial-grade Infinity grinder handles 8-1/2 ounces of beans at a time. It truly is one of the better large coffee grinders you'll find.
Sixteen different settings--four each in the four categories of extra fine, fine, regular, and coarse--let you adjust the grind to the specific blend of coffee and method of brewing. The finest setting is ideal for preparing Turkish coffee, which is a rare feature to find in a grinder.
A built-in timer sets the grind for anywhere between 5 and 60 seconds so you can walk away without having to constantly press a button to continue the grinding process. The Infinity, one of the many large coffee grinders, has an advanced conical burr design made of steel that is usually only found on commercial grinders. This burr design slows down the gears and reduces the amount of friction and heat to preserve coffee's flavor and aroma. The coffee container holds up to 4 ounces of grounds and remains sealed during grinding. For safety, the bean container also needs to be locked into place for the Infinity to operate. For easy cleaning, the bean container and upper burr lift off so you can clean the grinding chamber with the included brush and wipe down the heavy-duty zinc die-cast housing.

Beautifully designed, this conical burr coffee grinder features adjustable settings for various grind options. Choose from ultra-fine for Turkish coffee or large and coarse for percolators. The settings offer consistently shaped grinds and even extraction, which is the key to producing flavorful coffee.
In addition, the unit's metal conical burrs preserve more natural bean flavor than blade drivers due to the slower grind nature. The grinder comes equipped with a removable bean hopper that holds 1/2 pound of coffee beans, and its stainless-steel/polymer base offers start and stop control, as well as an on/off switch.
Other highlights in this type of large coffee grinder include a variable timer with 10 to 30 seconds of grind time, anti-static technology, and a removable burr for convenient cleaning.

Looking for one of the coolest designs in the large coffee grinders list? Then I would have to recommend this one. I just love how Bodum designs its products.
Having freshly ground coffee at hand makes all the difference when brewing the perfect cup of coffee! Bodum‘s New & Improved ANTIGUA electric coffee grinder was updated in several aspects in 2007, including a wider range of grinding from coarse to fine and a convenient instant grind feature. The conical burr grinder with its vast advantages was kept the same. The burr grinder allows you to match the coarseness of the grind to your preferred brewing method. Simply twist the bean container on top to produce a fine ground for espresso and a coarse one suitable for French press coffee.
There are eight preset grind settings marked on the Antigua, plus you can choose any intermediate position. The ANTIGUA can be used to grind all kinds of roasts, from the oily espressos to lighter and dryer roasts. Moreover, the ANTIGUA is unlikely to clog up with remains of ground coffee provided that you empty the ground coffee container after each 40-second grinding cycle. The timer quantity/control allows for an amount of up to 2.8oz/80gr of coarse ground coffee and up to 1.4oz/40gr of fine ground coffee.
The effects of static electricity inherent in all home grinders and we have done our best to reduce the amount of coffee mess in the update. Our new instant-touch button allows you to preset the grinding time for your preferred amount of coffee.

A stylish grinder for the serious coffee buff, this Cuisinart Supreme Grind automatic burr mill provides plenty of options and good results in an attractive and tidy structure. This makes it a great appliance for houses where coffee is a steady dietary staple and preferences vary from espresso to French drip.
Outfitted with a heavy-duty motor, the machine has 18 grind settings ranging from fine to extra-coarse, which are controlled by a clearly marked, pleasantly clicking dial. Rotate the hopper to personal preference, and the machine does the rest, using burr plates for a highly uniform grind that protects bean oilsand releases more flavor. Automatic operation in this burr coffee grinder covers quantity as well--simply set the amount slide control anywhere from 4 to 18 cups.
The grinder shuts off when the desired level is reached. Transfer of ready grounds to a coffee pot or espresso group is quick and tidy, because the grind chamber slides out with its clever lid in place. Smart and elegant, the grinder has brushed stainless steel housing and black accents in durable plastic.
The hopper, hopper lid, grinding burr, and grind chamber all remove easily for cleanup, and a safety feature keeps the grinder from operating without the hopper and chamber in place. Standing 6-3/4 by 9-3/4 by 5 inches, the unit has built-in power cord storage at its base. Cuisinart includes a coffee scoop/cleaning brush in one and covers the machine with an 18-month warranty.
