Starbucks Coffee Company has quite a long history as it was started in 1971 by Zev Siegl, Jerry Baldwin and Gordon Bowker before it was sold in 1987 to the man who made Starbucks what it is today, Mr. Howard Schultz.

Starbucks Coffee in Canada opened its first store, Seabus, on March 1, 1987, in Vancouver, B.C. In 1995, they formed an alliance with the Canadian bookstore chain, Chapters, Inc. To date, Starbucks Coffee in Canada has over 785 company-operated stores and over 266 licensed concept stores across the country.
