The Starbucks coffee grinder, specifically the Barista blade grinder, got recalled in 2009 so it sure is hard to trust them BUT...
You can never count Starbucks Coffee company out. There were over 500,000 in the Starbucks coffee grinder recall due to laceration hazards since the blades of the grinder would suddenly turn on when plugged in but Starbucks just knows how to sell and improve their products.
For those who returned their coffee grinder, they received a replacement at once. You just have to do what you have to do to make sure you don't destroy your name.
Well, they weren't all that bad. I'm talking about the other Starbucks coffee grinder models.
That Barista blade grinder was just one of many Starbucks coffee grinders in the market and I must say that there have been minimal problems with the other models. People were mostly happy even if they cost a little more than the blade grinder that malfunctioned.
The recalled model cost around $30 while the other coffee grinders were at least $60. The price wasn't the only difference.
These other models, which will be discussed below, are built and outsourced through other top high standard companies like Krups and Baratza. That means that there are two top companies that check quality control first before they are released to the public.
Even if they still outsource them in other countries andare mass produced, I can confidently say that they're of much better quality because the standards have been raised. Now, the Starbucks coffee company just has to listen more to its customers.
*A simple tip*
Never clean your Starbucks coffee grinder or any coffee grinder when it is still plugged in. Even if it's made by the best company you never know when a machine would just malfunction. Let's all be on the safe side and pull the plug before cleaning. Enjoy your coffee grinding everyone!:)
