The Toddy brew system, together with other cold coffee makers, have been seeing a steady increase in its demand. Although, the Toddy cold brewing system has been around ever since 1964, it is just recently that people have been realizing the health benefits that it gives coffee lovers.
What in particular?
Toddy coffee makers are great if you find coffee to be too acidic since the coffee that it produces approximately 67% less acidic than coffee brewed by conventional hot-brew methods.
This means that this low acid coffee maker can help avoid heartburn, which is experienced by an estimated 54 million Americans. Among those who suffer, 75% say that coffee can definitely cause it.

Thanks to the cold water brewing, which extracts the desirable flavor elements, but eliminates many of the undesirable oils and acids found in hot brewed coffee that are not soluble at low temperatures.
What makes Toddy coffee makers special and different from other coffee makers besides its cold brewing system is that you can produce a bold and super-smooth coffee concentrate that may be refrigerated for up to 14 days without any deterioration in taste or freshness.
It's no wonder why there are a lot of doctors who are now suggesting that their patients, who suffer from heartburn, try the Toddy brewing system.
We've been saying why you should buy or at least consider the Toddy coffee maker but we haven't touched on any of its negative areas. Well, for starters it is actually quite time consuming.

A little history about how the Toddy cold brewing system started...
In 1964, after graduating as a chemical engineering student at Cornell, Todd Simpson tasted a cup of coffee created with a liquid concentrate made by an ancient Peruvian process. Inspired, he developed and patented The Toddy, a cold brew system that creates a superior-tasting cup of STEAMING HOT coffee.
Directions in using the Toddy cold brewing system:
Fill - Empty one pound of your favorite coffee brand into the Toddy coffee maker. It's suggested that you use a regular grind. Fill to the top with cool and fresh water. The trick here is to fill it first with four (4) cups of water then wait for around 5 minutes (do not stir) then slowly add around 5more cups until you reach the top.
Brew - Put the container inside the refrigerator for 10-12 hours.
Serve - Pour 1 part coffee concentrate to 3 parts boiling water to serve fresh coffee.
