The types of coffee beans are a lot but only a few are big players in the market.

Home > Types-Of-Coffee

What are the coffee beans used in the different types of coffee drinks I order? How many are there?

The coffee bean types are thousands but only two to three are big players in the coffee industry. These are Arabica, Robusta and slowly being noticed, Liberica.

Among the types, Arabica is the most produced which is at least 70% of the world's coffee market simply because it produces the best flavors. Robusta takes up 20-25% of the market and is known more for "instant coffee."

The caffeine content also differs as Arabica, or coffea arabica is also half the caffeine (an average 1.1 percent) of Robusta beans.

Learning more about the different kinds of coffee drinks

For many, entering a coffee shop can be intimidating. Why? With all the coffee drinks they have, you don't know what to order.

It's not like going to a fruit shake stand where you order a banana or an avocado shake with a mixture of a power shot and that's it. Their drinks are organized and you know what you are buying just as long as you are familiar with the fruit.

In a coffee shop, you sometimes wonder what's the difference between a latte, a macchiato or even an au lait. And for those who know these already they sometimes wonder about the coffee beans that the shop has and where it's from and most often they end up just ordering the regular coffee or the coffee of the day.

Take a look at the different drinks like Cafe Breva, Cafe Macchiato, Iced Coffee, White Coffee and more in the articles below.

This section will help you differentiate not only the different coffee drinks but also familiarize yourself with them so the next time you walk in a coffee shop, you are more confident.

As with any section in our site, we will constantly update it to give you great coffee information so go ahead and take a look at the articles below.
